RARE Antique Forehand Arms Company large frame Double Action Top Break Revolver. 6 Shot , auto shell ejecting, 3 ¼” barrel , Nickel finish in .32 S&W. All original with matching numbers. Made for Black powder cartridges. SN: 381130

Condition: 3 1/4” barrel with a very lightly oxidized bore with very minor pitting and still showing very strong rifling. The metal surfaces still retain about 98% original nickel with a nice mirror finish The finish has some very light freckling and usual wear for It’s age.
Original hard rubber factory grips feature a floral design around the escutcheons and the F&W monogram with flag and shield on the top are in near excellent condition. All the appropriate parts are correctly numbered to the gun. Mechanically the double action appears to work excellent with very good timing and lock-up.

Forehand Arms had produced a nice quality firearm and when Hopkins and Allen company had a factory fire in 1900 they acquired the Forehand Arms Co. This acquisition gave H&A a much improved product line. The new machinery dramatically improved the line and enabled them to produce a low priced good quality product able to compete with Iver Johnson and H&R.
