Description:
1895 SADDLE RING CARBINE, .30-40 CALIBER, #78XXX, MADE 1912. A really nice unmessed with original example. This one retains about all the deep factory blue on the barrel and has an excellent matching handguard (not cracked!) and original ladder rear sight with slide. The receiver shows strong blue on the lower section of each side with normal edge wear with the upper section blue thinning and mixing gray. Good blue on the lever and magazine. Even shows fine blue on the upper tang and bolt. Saddle ring intact. Excellent stock and forend show only normal light handling with tight wood to metal fit. Tight action, strong safety half-cock, correct butt plate with sliding trap door for cleaning rods (no rods inside) and excellent bright bore. These have gotten very difficult to find especially in unaltered nice condition with original handguards. A popular carbine with the Arizona and Texas Rangers during the time of the Mexican Revolution 1910-1920. Made the year the Titanic sank nearly 114 years ago.
