This Sako A II in .22-250 Remington is a superb example of Finnish craftsmanship, combining elegant European styling with legendary Sako accuracy. Built on the smooth and compact AII bolt-action platform, this rifle features a 20-inch barrel that balances beautifully and delivers excellent velocity and precision in the highly regarded .22-250 caliber. Particularly noteworthy is the factory-installed rear peep sight adjustable from 100–200 meters, paired with a ramped and hooded front sight—an uncommon and highly desirable configuration that reflects Sako’s attention to practical, field-ready details. The action cycles effortlessly, the trigger breaks clean and crisp, and the rifle is mechanically excellent throughout.
The rifle retains approximately 99% of its original blued finish on both barrel and action, underscoring the careful use and preservation it has enjoyed. Completing the package is the full-length Mannlicher walnut stock, which gives the rifle a classic continental profile while offering excellent handling characteristics. The wood displays sharp checkering on the pistol grip and forend, with excellent fit and finish throughout. Grooved receiver rails allow for the use of correct Sako Opti-Lock rings if optics are desired, though the rifle is perfectly suited for iron-sight shooting as configured.
