"Serial No. 888, originally manufactured at Sparkbrook in 1894 and later converted by Enfield in 1912 to .22 caliber for training purposes. Features a 25"" round barrel with a bright, shiny bore and strong rifling. Rifle remains in very good overall condition, retaining the majority of its blackened finish. Stock shows light, honest handling impressions consistent with age and service. Right side of the socket cup is marked “Crown/V.R./Sparkbrook/1894/III", while the opposite side bears the conversion marking “Enfield/1912/SHT.22." Rifle is fitted with a Cooey 10A rear sight, a common upgrade on .22 trainers. Action is smooth and functions correctly. A clean, well-preserved example of an early Sparkbrook rifle repurposed for small-bore military training.
