Description:
Serial #363, .44 Russian, 6 1/2" barrel with a very good, bright bore that has some areas of mild freckling along its length. This is one of a small production run of only about 1,000 revolvers that retains about 80-85% of the original nickel finish with some minor flaking that has turned to plum-brown freckling at the muzzle, around the head of the cylinder pin, along the under-barrel web, cylinder, and on the gripstraps. Some muted color case-hardening can still be seen on the sides of the hammer, but the balance, as well as the trigger, has turned to a bright gray patina with small spots of freckling. The walnut grips are original and both panels are numbered to the gun on the interior. There are some minor handling marks in the original finish, with some further impact marks at the butt, mainly on the right panel. The lock-up is still tight and the action functions flawlessly. These are extremely rare revolvers, and this example rates very good-near fine condition overall. Antique;
