Winchester Model 1894 Semi Deluxe Rifle with Cody Verification, serial number 38551 made 1895 per the published Madis serial numbers, with the Cody records showing manufacture and shipping in 1898. This rifle sports 5 special order features per the verification sheet - part octagon/part round barrel of the typical 26" length, plain pistol grip, 1/2 magazine, shotgun butt with smooth steel butt plate, takedown frame. The plain trigger blued and case-hardened finish, plain walnut and typical rifle length fore arm are standard features. Caliber is 30 WCF aka 30-30 Winchester.

CONDITION: Barrel retains 95% bright original blue with the bore being a 7.5 of 10, worn but intact rifling and light frost, not rings or bulges and no deep pits. Receiver retains 90% bright original blue with the majority of the loss on the bottom by the serial number and take down flange from carry wear. Take down feature is tight with no wobble. Stocks are sound with no splits or cracks, some usage marks scratches, still tight and even with the metal, with some extra grain (almost 1X) at the rear of the butt stock. Butt plate has the typical early pointed top toe. Assembly numbers match on upper left tang, back of butt stock, and inside butt plate. Action is crisp with a strong hammer spring and properly working half cock safety. Lever retains strong case colors on left side, traces on right side, mostly silvered out on bottom from wear. Hammer retains 40% bright case colors and loading gate retains 50% of the bright fire blue. Sights include the platinum-lined 3 leaf express rear and a Sheard front. Butt plate has some oxidation staining, as does the right rear receiver. This is a beautiful example of a semi deluxe 1894 rifle that is sure to gain value over time and become a highlight of your collection. Cody sheet will be provided with rifle.
