Serial number 378106 indicates manufacture in 1891. CONDITION: All metal surfaces retain 5% original finish that has turned a light gray with multiple small nicks and dings. Hammer and lever retain traces of original case colors, otherwise the typical nickel-silver from fading. Front sight post and blade, as well as the 0 to 9 marked rear sight, are original. Action is crisp with a fairly strong hammer spring and properly working half cock safety. Stocks exhibit expected nicks and dings with some wear, no major damage or abuse, never cleaned or sanded, butt stock starting to get dry-crack stress lines, fore arm has slight chip missing right front at top. Mag tube is tight with no wobble. Bore is very good, a 8.0 of 10, with some wear and very light scattered black powder fouling but no rings or bulges, somewhat bright and might clean better, should spin a bullet fine.
