The .38 Long Colt was the Old West answer to “How small can a bullet be and still get the job done.?” Introduced in the late 1860s, it quickly became the go to round for some Frontier Lawmen and Soldiers who wanted to carry a revolver without being weight down with a .45 caliber Hogleg. Some thing, light enough and deadly enough to make some no good Olwhoot think twice before pull his Iron. The .38 Long Colt became the cartridge of choice for these “Old Lawdogs and US Army Troupers.” Then just a little more than hundred years late, along came COWBOY ACTION SHOOTING and the .38 Long Colt was again in high demand, although then the Desperdos then were no more than paper tigers. Our loads are design to that need by loading .38 Long Colt 150 Gr, Hollow Base lead bullets Back by 3 1/2 grains of Unique. The Hollow Base Also make them usable in the .36 percussion revolver that have been converted. Conversions are Cap and ball revolvers that have been made to handle cartridges
