The flag measures 25" x 22" while the central circle, which is actually an oval, has a diameter of about 12 1/2." The cloth is very loosely woven and has some rips and tatters along the edges, and is mounted to a piece of wood on the hoist side for display. There is an identification written in English on one of the corners in faded ink: "GERMAN SIGNAL FLAG / JUTLAND MAY 1916." The Battle of Jutland occurred on May 31 & June 1, 1916, and was the greatest naval clash of WW1. This is a neat piece of WW1 naval history, and is in fair-good condition overall.; Price: $225.00 |
