Description:
Marlin Firearms Co. (Two line address) left side of receiver. Ballard No. 5 Pacific. Nice clean, all original Ballard with good bore in 40-85. Condition Rating: Excellent with 90% original blue on the 32” heavy octagon barrel with strong rifling although slightly dark. Approximately 10-20% of the original casehardened finish remains on the non-engraved action, mostly in protected areas fading to a mottled pewter color. Vintage aftermarket tang sight / Ballard rear sight / German silver blade front. The forearm remains excellent. The buttstock retains strong finish but has typical Ballard cracks at the head due mainly in part to heavy recoil. Includes a second buttstock (non-matching S/N but is crack free and good color match. Appears to be original hickory cleaning rod. This firearm remains mechanically excellent.
