Payment Types Accepted: Bank to bank wire transfer (preferred), or bank cashier's check only Description: Excellent condition 3rd model Winchester 1876 lever action rifle in 40-60 caliber. S/N 53424 made in 1884. Respectable amounts of original finish remaining over most, with general light wear and handling marks, but no major distractions. Much of the barrel and receiver bluing still shows clean and bright, especially for this model. The right side plate and several other areas have faded to a more mottled brownish-grey. The wood is free of cracks and is dimensionally sound, remaining proud of metal everywhere, having never been sanded, refinished or repaired. The 28" octagon barrel has a minty, bright bore with distinct rifling throughout, really nice. All mechanical functions are crisp and proper with no lever drop. The crescent buttplate has a smooth operating trap door with vacant compartment. The original sight package consists of a Lyman ivory bead front with most of the actual bead portion missing, and a Winchester 22 series sporting rear with elevator. Overall, a very worthy and collectible example of a 141 year old antique rifle. Comes with the perfectly preserved Cody Firearms Museum letter from 2017 as shown. Expedited and fully insured shipping from Alaska in a new hard case and over-length box is an additional $100. Price: $5,950.00 Antique: Yes |
