U.S. Saginaw Steering Gear (SG) M1 Carbine, serial number 3,225,6xx, representing mid WWII production by one of the scarcer General Motors divisions contracted during World War II. Saginaw carbines are highly sought after due to their shorter production run compared to Inland.
This example is particularly desirable as it retains its original matching stock, correctly stamped with the same serial number as the receiver—an uncommon and increasingly hard to find feature among surviving M1 Carbines. The stock markings are clear and correct, reflecting authentic WWII-era factory practice.
Metal components show honest service wear consistent with age, with clear manufacturer markings remaining visible. Small import stamp on right side of barrel. The rifle maintains its proper U.S. military configuration and has not been altered or modernized. Overall condition reflects careful preservation of an original WWII service rifle.
