"Serial No. 143672, manufactured in 1899, chambered in .30-40 Krag with a 30"" round barrel. The bore is bright and shiny with strong, well-defined rifling. Metal finish has thinned to a smooth grey patina, while factory markings on the receiver remain sharp and clearly legible. The stock shows light handling impressions consistent with age and service, and a faint cartouche is visible on the right side, though the final digit is no longer discernible. Overall presentation is clean and honest, with no major distractions. Action is smooth and functions correctly. A solid and attractive example of the U.S. Model 1898 Krag rifle.
