Attractive, standard configuration Inland Division manufactured M1 carbine, barrel dated 1943, assembled with all correct Inland marked or subcontracted parts, 15-shot magazine, and canvas sling.

Description:

The M1 Carbine was designed as a lightweight alternative to the full-size M1 Garand rifle, weighing only about 5.2 pounds compared to the Garand's 9.5 pounds. This example was made by Inland Division in 1942 with 15 shot magazine. Barrel marked "Inland MFG DIV, General Motors, dated 2-43". Front of receiver marked "U.S. CARBINE CAL. 30 M1" while the rear of the receiver is marked "INLAND DIV" over the full serial number. Fitted with winged front sight, "S"/unmarked L-flip rear sight, blued flat bodied bolt, a high wood walnut stock marked with an encircled P under the pistol grip, a large Inland logo on the right side of the butt, and the "I" cut sling recess marked on left side with the Flaming Bomb and "IO" subcontractor. Disassembly confirming an Inland marked trigger housing. Canvas shoulder strap and unmarked 15-shot magazine.

Condition:

VG+ original condition with the blued bolt and parkerizing retaining approximately 97-98% of its finish, the handguard and stock with scattered handling marks and a few shallow dents and gouges. G checkered buttplate with stains and patchy oxidation. Near mirror bore. Correct manual mechanics.
