Exceedingly scarce and highly desirable "transition" era Model 70 Super Grade in .270 Win. caliber.
S/N 62633 with matching scribed bolt made in 1946.
Built around a carryover Pre WWII receiver with its "clover leaf" or "doll's head"" shaped tang, and also featuring the unique "rabbit's foot" aka "clam shell" safety lever which was used only during this short production period from 1946 to about 1948 or so.
This is an all original and very solid rifle that remains in excellent condition with very strong blued finishes and some scattered light impressions over the wood, but at least 95% overall.
All of the special SG components are present and genuine including the deluxe stock, correctly stamped floorplate, robust detachable swivels, and the especially important rare and insanely expensive Redfield front sight!
24" standard weight barrel. The bore and all mechanical functions are flawless. Correct factory option Lyman 48 WJS receiver sight with perfect function and all matching inner component #s.
I have also inspected the barrel channel which remains untouched with perfect fit, and no routing or glass bedding.
These more "common" caliber Supers have become nearly impossible to find, and I'm sure most of you know why. This is a very respectable one to add to your collection.
