Description:
Offered is a Colt 1911 ACE pistol with receiver manufactured in 1917. The Colt ACE conversion is first generation from 1937/1938. The trigger and mainspring housing are 1911 A1 generation. The magazine housing has the lanyard attachment loop. The rear sight is adjustable for windage and ellevation using the integral adjustment screws. The barrel assebly is first generation which does not have a floating chamber. Slide and action are precisely fitted, and show little or no wear from cycling. The bore is mirror bright with no flaws or rifling wear.The magazine release screw and the windage adjustment screw each show use. The grip panels appear to be afterarket addition , and are flawless.
This gun exhibits all of the problems which prompted the redesign of the barrel to incorporate the floating chamber.
