Built in 1956 on the five screw N-frame, this incredibly rare special ordered Model Pre Model 25 is equipped with a 5” barrel, original bright blue finish and smooth rosewood presentation target stocks. The configuration and rare barrel length have been confirmed by the factory S&W Historical Foundation and the gun is guaranteed to letter as shown. Knowledgeable collectors are aware of the extreme rarity of non standard barrel lengths as they were not catalogued. An impressive and exceedingly rare N-frame that will fill a hole in virtually any collection. The gun remains in excellent overall condition with some scattered light aging on the frame and knuckle along with slight wear to the muzzle. The bore and cylinder chambers are mint and the mechanical working order is flawless. Overall a desirable and rare N-frame that will take years of searching to replicate.
