Description:
Serial #96214, 12 Ga. (2 3/4"), 30" barrels choked Full and Full, with fine, bright bores that have hints of freckling within the tubes. This is a very handsome gun that has all matching numbers and retains a beautiful strong Damascus pattern along both tubes. The frame has muted color case-hardening mixing with a pleasant light gray patina and crisp original factory engraving with hunting dog vignettes on either side, as well as "PARKER BROS." ribands at the rear. Strong original color case-hardening is still present on the protected areas: the water table and the interior furniture of the forend. The barrels are still on-face and the lever is just slightly left of center. The nicely figured walnut splinter forend and pistol-grip buttstock are in fine-excellent shape with only minor handling marks scattered about the varnish, and some minor flattening of the checkering points. The hard rubber grip crap is intact and has aged to a dark brown color over time. The LOP is 14" to a skeleton buttplate, with drops of 2 1/4" and 3 1/4" respectively. Included with the gun is a 2008-dated Parker Gun Collectors Association letter that confirms the gun’s configuration. The checkering is not mentioned on the letter, but certainly looks factory. The letter also lists the gun as having been ordered on October 16, 1900, by S.R. Buford & Co. of Virginia City, Montana, with shipment occurring six days later. The gun appears in Order Book No. 51 of the Parker Bros. Records. This is a splendid Damascus barreled Parker, and is in excellent condition overall. It would make a wonderful addition to any collection. FFL or C&R;
