Rare Near Mint Marlin 410 Lever Shotgun .410 Gauge
Offered here for sale is a superb and highly collectible lever action firearm – the marlin 410 shotgun. Marlin produced its original .410-gauge lever-action shotgun in 1929 through about 1932. Very few were made (estimated under 10,000 total), and they were often given as promotional firearms to stockholders.
These early guns were built on the older Model 1893 lever action design and this specimen has a 26” barrel. The serial number 4134 is low enough to almost certainly place it in this original production run in that timeframe.
Markings on the barrel and receiver are MARLIN FIREARMS Co. NEW HAVEN, CT / -PAT’D OCT 11.1887 APRIL 2.1889 AUG 1.1893- and “Marlin/410”. Smooth walnut stock and smoothbore barrel without modern features. This specimen appears to have sen very little if any use and may well be UNFIRED. There are only a few very minor storage marks. 100% original blue on the barrel and receiver. The hammer and lever retain just about all of its original muted case colors. The wood is near untouched with all original varnish. Mechanically excellent.
