Description:
Ruger No. 1 Tropical chambered in .458 Lott. This rifle features a strong, simple, compact falling-block breech mechanism with artillery-style breechblock, and under-lever is ideally suited for today's powerful cartridges. It has a sliding tang safety that provides instant security, visibility, and accessibility. A robust, sturdy, sculptured receiver forms a rigid support for barrel, stock and sliding breech block. The ejector mechanism provides maximum leverage at the point where the ejector engages the cartridge case and can be adjusted to provide extraction only. Integral scope mounts, machined directly on the solid steel quarter rib, provide a stable mounting surface for mounting scope rings. It has an adjustable rear notch sight and a front blade sight. The cold hammer-forged barrel results in ultra-precise rifling that provides exceptional accuracy and longevity. The .458 Lott is based on the full length .375 H&H Magnum case blown out and shortened to 2.8 inches. It is ideal for hunting large, thick-skinned dangerous game animals in Africa.
