Description:
Price includes shipping in the 48 states. Chambered for .54 caliber, these Starr percussion carbines were widely issued to Union cavalry units during the American Civil War. This is a very fresh “untouched” example that came right out of an estate of an 80 year collection.

It retains plenty of its original blue finish with some strong patterns of original case colors showing mainly on the hammer. The brass has the right kind of original lightly aged patina and does not appear to have been polished. All markings are sharp. The bore has crisp rifling with some old grease in it, with the breech and percussion nipple showing minimal signs of use. There is a small minor crack in the wood ahead of the buttplate that is barely of note. The lock functions flawlessly with very crisp clicks. This would make a splendid addition to any Civil War collection.

As an antique, this can ship directly to your doorstep in most states!
