Special focus on custom contemporary muzzleloading rifles and black powder cartridge rifles. Description: This is a pretty typical example of an export sword bayonet made for the Type I Navy rolling block rifle. The rifles were rejected by the Navy due to rear sight being placed too close to the receiver. Many went to Europe and Mexico. This unmarked bayonet, likely by Ames, is in the style that went to Mexico. Its unsharpened 21.25" yataghan blade has a mottled finish. No active rust or pitting. Just age. The leather scabbard is intact, but has age checking and cracking. Stitching is solid. A nice addition to any collection of military bayonets. $350 + Shipping. Price: $350.00 |
