This is the Forehand & Wadsworth Side Hammer, seven shot revolver manufactured in the 1870's with total quantity estimated around 1000. In very fine condition the barrel, frame and cylinder retain about 35-40% of the original blue finish toning to pewter-gray. The rosewood grips rate excellent and are correct to the gun which has all matching numbers. The action functions well mechanically with proper timing holding at half and full cock with a crisp trigger. It comes in a custom fitted, velvet lined wood case with brass latch and spots for 21 rounds of ammunition. A very fine example of these classic spur trigger revolvers that were essentially a continuation of the original 8th model Ethan Allen ones. Antique Price: $895.00 Antique: Yes |
