This is a Smith & Wesson Model 625-6 Mountain Gun, a stainless-steel N-frame double-action revolver chambered in .45 Long Colt with a 6-round cylinder, built around the classic Model 625 design. Mountain Gun variants are distinguished by the lighter tapered 4-inch barrel and reduced underlug, giving a good balance of power and carry weight.
The Mountain Gun concept started as a way to put a stout big-frame revolver into a more carry-friendly package while retaining serious .45-caliber performance.
