Description:
Here is a good Husqvarna Model 48C top-lever hammer combination gun, built in 1904.  This is one of only about 150 of this model built.  It was finished by Oskar Frederiksson, who was a master gunsmith at Husqvarna from 1897-1944.  The barrels are 29.5" (75cm).  The right tube is 16 gauge with a 2 ¾" chamber (lengthed from the original 65mm).  The choke is .016 (about light modified.)  The left barrel is chambered in 9.3x72R (lengthened from the original 9.3x57r/.360.)  Both bores are very good. There is a raised matted rib.  The rear sights consist of one standing and two folding leaves.  The gun has a doll's head extension, and locks up tight.  The back-action locks are rebounding.  The lock-plates feature very good engraving of a roe deer on one side, and a dog on point on the other.  The splinter fore-end has a Deeley & Edge patent latch release.  The figured round knob semi-pistol-grip stock has flat-top checkering and a pancake cheek-piece.  The length of pull is 14 5/8" over a smooth steel butt-plate.  The weight is 8 lbs 3 oz.  A wonderful vintage Swedish weapon, very shootable with modern ammo.  (9.3x72r is available from S & B).
