Description: Serial #8320, .32-20 WCF, 20 inch barrel with an overall fine bore that is excellent from the muzzle to about 4 inches down then spotty roughness to the breech with very good rifling overall that should spin a bullet well. This is a 2nd year production Model 1892 Winchester Saddle Ring Carbine built in January of 1893. In excellent condition the barrel and mag tube show about 20-25% sharp original blue in protected areas that tones to brown overall. The frame shows about 40-45% blue with the balance fading to plum-brown with some light handling marks and the usual loss of finish around the saddle ring. The walnut stock and forearm rate about excellent with tight wood to metal fit showing numerous old use marks and contusions. It is sighted with the correct front and flip up ladder rear sight. The action is crisp with a smooth lever. A nice honest, 2nd year 1892 in the desirable SRC configuration. Included is a sheet from Cody stating the serial number was applied on January 24, 1893 on this Carbine in .32 Caliber. Antique Price: $4,500.00 Antique: Yes |
