Vintage Firearms is pleased to offer one of the most iconic pistols ever developed. Used by gangsters, soldiers, and law enforcement alike, adopted by dozens of countries, and is still widely manufactured and copied to this day. This 1911, manufactured in 1968, is chambered in .38 Super. This round was originally designed by Colt to combat organized crime in 1929, and ironically, became a favorite of the criminals it was meant to fight! The .38 Super is a well-balanced cartridge with a flat trajectory, good accuracy, and delivers high muzzle velocity relative to other interwar cartridges. This Colt Super is in 99% overall condition, with the receiver, barrel, and trigger guard all displaying 99% original finishes and a mirror bore. At some point in its history someone decided to upgrade its grips, swapping out the factory plastic grips for walnut grips with a Colt medallion. Through its many decades of ownership, its collected a few handling marks but is still in wonderful overall condition. Included with this Colt is its original box and three 9 round Colt magazines, giving you a great leg up as Colt mags can run you a pretty penny. With this package you’ll has everything needed to get started, just add the ammo!
