I have had this Auto-5 for quite a while and have used it occasionally. Since I decided to offer it for sale, I took it out yesterday to shoot a round of Sporting Clays one last time. It helped me remember why I liked it so much. The shotgun just works! There were no jams, no failure to feed, and it was as accurate as I remember. Most of these were Full Choke, but this one is a modified choke that is much more desireable. Because of the recoil operated action, recoil has always felt mild to me. My 870 Remington kicks much harder with the same load. The shotgun has been well used over its lifetime and shows appropriate wear. There is a crack in the forearm, shown in the photos, that has been there since I got it. It has never gotten any worse but certainly could be repaired. There are several small scratches and dings in the walnut stock, and the finish is worn in all the appropriate places. The bluing shows appropriate wear for a 73 year old shotgun. There is no sign of any rust or pitting anywhere. A pachmayr vented recoil pad was installed many years ago and remains in good shape. The length of pull was maintained at 14.25". This shotgun will be shipped "taken down" with the barrel separated from the action. It makes for a more sturdy, compact package that is much less likely to be damaged in shipping. If you are looking for a vintage Auto-5 that shoots great at a reasonable price, this may be the one. Please go over the photos carefully and contact me with questions. As always, Thank you for looking! Buyer to pay Insurance and Shipping costs. Shipping costs include: Dixie Gun & Fish transfer fees, soft case for most firearms, and professional packing and boxing in a sturdy container. TERMS – PLEASE READ; PAYMENT - I can accept cashier’s checks, bank checks, or personal checks (pending verification of funds) or Money orders. I can also accept payment through Zelle. My FFL dealer (Dixie Gun & Fish) securely packs and ships each firearm, following all firearms laws, and will include a signed copy of their FFL with each firearm shipped. No private sales on firearms! SAFETY WARNING- Buyer is solely responsible for determining that a used gun is safe to shoot. The firearms offered may or may not have been test fired, and some have been only visually inspected. It is a requirement that every used firearm is inspected by a qualified gunsmith before firing. The buyer agrees to hold seller harmless against damages, injury, or death caused by defective merchandise. RETURN POLICY- All firearms come with a 3-day non firing, no-tinkering with (turning screws, taking apart, removing parts, scoping. firing, cleaning or altering in any way) inspection/return privilege. Inspection is based on a visual review of the firearm to confirm that it is in the condition stated. In the case of a return, the buyer pays all shipping charges both ways. Please ask questions. Return Policy Guidelines of GunsInternational Unless the buyer and seller agree to modify, as may be the case in a new gun, layaway, international sales and for used guns and accessories it must be clearly marked in the listing as No Return, the return policy is three (3) calendar days from the day the item(s) are received by the buyer or delivered to the FFL acting for the buyer. The item may be returned for any reason, but the buyer must notify the seller within the three (3) calendar day inspection period. The buyer must start the return within the next four (4) calendar days to receive a complete refund, less all shipping, transaction fees and FFL charges. On a return the buyer must not remove the firearm from the FFL premises without approval of the seller. Once the firearm has been received by the seller and inspected a prompt refund will be issued. Shipping must start within one week of receipt of the item(s). The return shipping must be of equal shipping level, including insurance i.e... Priority, Express, Blue Label etc. The return item MUST be in the same condition as when shipped to the buyer. This is an inspection period only, a gun is not to be fired or disassembled. Sellers written permission is required to allow the buyer to take down a takedown model during the inspection period. Upon the receipt and inspection of the returned gun, the seller agrees to issue a prompt refund. Recommendation: Confirm purchase with all details via the Contact Seller form within the listing and print out the listing for your records. Industry standard is that if a buyer fails to perform on a layaway that any monies deposited are forfeited. GunsInternational recommends all layaways are agreed in writing. Any modification of the 3 day return policy must be in writing by both buyer and seller. Price: $789.99 Curio/Relic: Yes Shotgun Gauge: 12 Gauge Manufacturer: Browning Arms co.
