Description:
Serial #97C6589, .303 British, 25" barrel with an excellent, bright two-groove bore. This Chicopee-made, Lend-Lease rifle has retained about 70-75% of the original blue with the balance turned to a dark plum-brown patina. Additionally, there is some silvering at the muzzle, as well as along the exposed projections and high points where the finish has worn through. The matching numbered bolt has a bright gray body with fading and some plum-brown freckling on the handle, while the milled aperture rear sight also has a few spots of freckling. There is an import mark on the underside of the barrel at the muzzle. The handguards and forend have an overall dark brown armory-added varnish with numerous small handling marks and blemishes throughout, while the buttstock has some angular marks added to the right side, and a short crack at the wrist on the top left. The original matching numbered magazine is included which has an overall gray-brown patina, and a gray-blue canvasRAF sling is installed. This is a nice U.S.-made rifle and, rates very good condition overall. FFL or C&R
