Custom Winchester Model 70 .470 Capstick. Serial G298544 has a 23-inch tapering heavy sporter barrel (.775-inch muzzle diameter, banded front sight with brass-beaded blade and flip-up moon bead, banded sling swivel stud, ERA island rear sight with one fixed notched leaf and one folding leaf). Features include a jeweled bolt body, full-length claw extractor, three-position safety, reprofiled receiver (left wall) and custom bottom metal (inside-the-bow floorplate release button). Finish is matte black and mounts (rear base with recoil shoulder) are attached. STOCK: Jay Lesser made the synthetic stock as a concept (long forearm, palm swell, wide comb, long grip) for Art Alphin of A-Square, but the design was never put in production. Jay also did the majority of the metalwork. CAPACITY: Four rounds (three plus one). Three rounds fit in and feed from the magazine. The fourth is “dropped in” and the extractor “snaps over”. Cartridges are too large to feed the fourth round from the magazine. Feeding/extraction/ejection are positive. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 9.4 pounds and the length-of-pull is 14.0 inches. AMMUNITION: 100 rounds of A-Square Dead Tough 500-grain softs and 20 rounds of A-Square 500-grain Monolithic Solids are included. All cases have proper head stamps. COMPONENTS: A set of RCBS dies (three dies), approximately 118 500-grain Lion Load bullets, approximately 118 500-grain Monolithic Solid bullets and approximately 11empty brass are also included. CONDITION: The bore is bright. Metal finish is approximately 98 percent. Stock finish is 99 percent. The price is firm, layaway available.
