Springfield Armory XDS-9 4.0 – 9mm – 4" Barrel – 8+1 – Full Original Kit & Case
Springfield produced the XDS-9 4.0 as a follow up to their XDS that had a 3.3 inch barrel. The slightly longer barrel and longer sight radius improved velocity of the 9mm rounds and made accurate shooting a bit easier with the 4 inch barrel. However, by keeping the pistol as a single stack, it remained easy to conceal, even with the longer barrel.
The owner of this pistol believes that he bought it in about 2017. It wears serial number S4917729 and has the attractive bi-tone finish.
For a handgun that was, and still is, very affordable, Springfield packed a lot of features into this pistol. It has the grip safety that always makes us think of the XD line, textured grip panels and an ambi magazine release. The rear sights are low profile, 2 dot white sights and the front sight is a high visibility fiber optic. The pistol also has a loaded chamber indicator, a single slot accessory rail and a short reset trigger.
The bore is clean and shiny, the barrel is very bright and the rifling is strong. The grips, frame and slide are all in Excellent condition. In other words, this is a well cared for, gently used pistol with a full kit at an incredibly affordable price. If you’re a fan of Springfield pistols, this one will probably look very good to you!
