Classic Smith & Wesson Model 36 \"Chiefs Special\" – .38 Special
Up for sale is a legendary piece of American law enforcement history: the Smith & Wesson Model 36. Introduced in 1950, this snub-nosed J-frame revolver became the gold standard for backup and off-duty carry for decades.
Features & Mechanical Condition: This particular specimen features the classic 2-inch pinned barrel and a 5-round swing-out cylinder. It is a \"No Dash\" model, making it a pure example of the original engineering design. The double-action trigger pull is smooth, and the single-action break is crisp and light. Timing is excellent, and the cylinder lock-up is tight.
Cosmetic Condition: This revolver has been carried and shows its history. The blued finish remains deep in protected areas but displays typical wear at the muzzle and along the high points of the frame and cylinder. The walnut service-style grips are original and feature the classic S&W medallions. There are no cracks in the wood, only minor indentations from use.
