Description:
This "Marlin 1892" often referred to as the "Marlin Safety" due to its prominent receiver marking, is a compact lever-action repeating rifle designed by L.L. Hepburn and manufactured by the Marlin Firearms Company from approximately 1892 to 1916. Chambered in .32 Rimfire (typically .32 Short or Long Rimfire), it featured a tubular magazine, optional round or octagonal barrel lengths 24-28", and a unique design that allowed interchange between rimfire and equivalent centerfire cartridges via a replaceable firing pin, enhancing versatility for small-game hunting and target shooting. This trim lightweight rifle - sharing the same frame size as the later iconic Marlin Model 39. This rifle is in good condition, considering it being an antique, with a circa of 1892. .32 Rimfire
