For sale: A Heym .375 H&H Model 88SS with two Suhler claw-mounted Zeiss Diavari optics. Side-by-side configuration with full sidelocks. Year of manufacture is 1987. Nitro-proofed barrels forged with Krupp-Special Laufstahl & action has the Greener crossbolt. Cocking indicators and ejectors. Limited scroll engraving and coin finish. Stock cap has the initals 'DS'. Butt pad is a black Colt Sauer Sporting Rifle model. LOP is 14 3/4 inches to the front trigger, 13 7/8 inches to the rear trigger. Length of barrels are 25 7/8 inches and the overall length is 42 1/4 inches. Claw mounts installed. Optics are both Zeiss West German manufacture, fitted to the rifle. Optic #1 is a Zeiss Diavari -C 1.5-4.5x18 and optic #2 is a Diavari - ZA 1.5-6x42, T*, both likely manufactured in the late 1980's. Tiny 'EP Arlington VA' import stamp present on the flat of the action bar.
Rare to see a Heym 88 full sidelock double rifle for sale; according to George Caswell, the older models were the best Heym ever made.
