A beautiful and very good 15 bore double percussion WESTLEY RICHARD sporting gun with RARE 26" factory damascus barrels in a relined mahogany brass bound case. I've been collecting Westley Richard guns most of my nearly sixty years and have only seen about four Westley Richards 26" barreled percussion sporting guns and I own two of them. The barrels are factory; they have not been shortened. The wood has been professionally refinished. The the iron furniture - stepped lock plates, trigger guard, standing breech, butt plate, entry thimble, and German silver barrel wedge escutcheons - almost all entirely flush with the wood and engraved with border and moderate acanthus leaf and scroll engraving. The length of pull is approximately 14 1/4". The barrels have been professionally refinished too, showcasing the lovely damascus pattern in the period correct brown color. The barrel rib at the breech still sharply marked "WESTLEY RICHARDS, 170 NEW BOND ST., LONDON," soften only ever so softly if at all. The barrells feature a single platinum line across the breech, platinum blowout plugs, and an ivory bead front sight. The cylinder bores are in mint condition and measure 0.677" with my cheap Chinese measuring device. The beautiful locks are serial numbered to the gun. Please see the photographs of the inside of the locks and the meticulous inletting. The gun is mechanically perfect. The case has been professionally refinished and relined to fit this gun like a glove. Accessories shown are included.
