I have for sale a beautiful gun from my favorite English maker, Boss. This gun, serial number 4768, was originally built in 1900. However, this Boss comes with newer barrels which were replaced in 2000 by Philip Turner (initials P.T. on Barrels) who was a barreler for Purdey and barrel shop foreman for Holland and Holland. So unlike so many of these older guns which have thin barrel walls because of shooting black powder shells you have basically new barrels with minimum wall thickness of .030. The new barrels are 28 inches in length and have 2 3/4 inch chambers. Both bores measure .726 with the right barrel having .006 of constriction giving you improved cylinder, and the left having .016 of constriction giving you modified. What a great set up for most upland birds. The straight English stock has dimensions of 1 5/8 X 2 3/8 X 14 7/8 over the nicest leather covered pad I've seen. While talking about the stock just take a look at this stick of wood! The gun features a patented Boss single trigger and automatic safety. Weight of the gun is 6 pounds 7 ounces and the balance is 1/4" in front of the hinge pin giving you that smooth swing. Gun is cast off for the right hand shooter. Case coloring is original and is better than the pictures show, probably 40-50 percent. This is just a lovely and fine shooting gun which will gather a crowd whenever it is taken out.
