Description:
20 inch round barrel carbine configuration chambered in the desirable 44 WCF caliber with a very good bore that has a few scattered spots of roughness and good rifling. Sights include a barleycorn front with a folding ladder carbine rear. Barrel and magazine tube retain most all original thinning blue with good markings. Receiver has a good amount of original blue remaining with some thinning that is toning to a plum patina. Original saddle ring. Hammer and lever have darkened case colors present. Walnut stocks are in good condition with an added coat of finish applied at some time ago. Crisp functioning action. The 223k serial range shows it was made in 1887. Includes 3 piece cleaning rod in the butt. A very fine example of a Winchester 1873 carbine that is almost 140 years old and shows honest wear. This one was used but taken care of.
