Payment Types Accepted: USPS Money Order, Money Order, or Certified Check Description: An interesting conversion of a Whitney Rolling Block rifle. Overall it is in good untouched condition, and displays a nice patina. The heavy octagon barrel measures out to 34 inches (from breech to the end of the barrel), and is chambered for an unknown .38 cal. CF cartridge. The rifling is decent, though shows wear that is common with these old black powder guns. Interestingly, the barrel is marked “C SIEBERT COLUMBUS O”, indicating that this was the gunsmith who performed the conversion. Not much can be found, but as per American Gunsmiths by Frank Sellers, brothers Charles M. Siebert and Christian Siebert were active in Columbus, Ohio from 1851 until 1886; it appears they were a family of gunsmiths. The action functions as it should. The wood is solid, and there are no wobbles. All in all, a cool rolling block that likely saw the frontier. The payment methods listed are the only ones that I will accept. Fully insured shipping is included in the price. Price: $1,450.00 Antique: Yes |
