Description:
This bayonet was manufactured in 1909 by the Rock Island Arsenal. The 15 7/8" unsharpened blade is bright with specked finish in very good condition, no chips, nice tip. The ricasso is marked with the "RIA flaming bomb and 1909", reveres is marked "US 149034" The guard and pommel show handling and use marks with some oxidation. The handle appears the original wood scales with a light patina. Locking mechanism works fine and attaches correctly to scabbard and rifle. This M1910, stamped "0-6868" also hand written "0-6868" and stamped with an unknown line of 4 or 5 letters, scabbard is in very good condition with intact and correct leather over wood interior and nice canvas cover free from tares and minor age soiling.;
