Description:
FACTORY ENGRAVED British WEBLEY & SCOTT M700 Double Barrel Modern SHOTGUN

12 Gauge SIDE x SIDE BOXLOCK with CASE COLORS

Here Ancestry Guns presents a Modern Factory Engraved British Webley & Scott Model 700 Boxlock Double Barrel Side by Side Hammerless Shotgun, made in 1975 in Birmingham, England. Webley & Scott is one of the oldest British gunmakers, tracing their origins back to 1790. They are also one of the most prolific makers, best known today for their production of civilian and military handguns in the late 19th and 20th centuries. They also have produced, and still do make some fine shotguns. In 1897 P Webley & Son amalgamated with W & C Scott & Sons, forming The Webley & Scott Revolver & Arms Company of Birmingham and 78 Shaftesbury Avenue, London. Up until the mid-1920’s guns were produced as either Webley & Scott or W & C Scott models. Production of Webley & Scott Shotguns continued up until 1978 at which time a separate company, W&C Scott (Gunmakers) Limited was formed and in 1985 was bought by Holland and Holland.

This classic Webley & Scott Model 700, the company’s most successful post-World War II side-by-side, was introduced in 1947 and accounted for roughly one-third of Webley & Scott’s double gun production. This is a beautiful gun that would catch some eyes at the skeet range and would make a great gun for doves, quail, grouse, or even pheasant,
This gun is solid example of a Webley & Scott Model 700, combining the hallmark durability of the model with particularly clean mechanics and sharp aesthetics. This shotgun would be an ideal choice for both the field and the collection.
