Description:
Winchester pre-64 Model 70 .300 Winchester Magnum. Serial 552279 has a 24-inch barrel (hooded front sight with silver-beaded blade, folding rear sight (adjustable), full-length extractor, three-position safety and steel floorplate/guard. The stock has bordered panel checkering, sling loops (for a one-inch sling) and a Winchester logo recoil pad. CAPACITY: Four rounds (three plus one). The extractor “snaps over” rounds dropped into the chamber. DIMENSIONS: Weight is 8.2 inches and the length-of-pull is 13.65 inches. CONDITON: The bore is pristine. Feeding/extraction/ejection are proper. Metal finish is at least 95 percent. Wood is approximately 90 percent with an impression in the left forearm checkering field, a small knot at the bolt handle (under the original finish) and a small sliver (mostly hidden by the floorplate, appears to be a repaired chip during factory inletting) at front right of the trigger guard. Receiver markings are tack sharp. Bolt body has no visible number. Barrel proof is at 12:00 (late production). Barrel markings are consistent from end-to-end and fine font. The price is firm and layaway is available. $3,500 plus shipping.
