Description:
Rare early 1969 Beretta S56E ready to hunt.  Nice dark furniture with a round knob buttstook.  There are some handling marks on the furiture but it still looks great.  The metal surfaces are in very good shape, and the receiver is in excellent condition.  It has sling posts and handles 2 3/4" shells.  The LOP is 14 1/8".  The factory plate is in very good shape.  It comes with 26.5" vented chrome-lined barrels.

The S55E proved to be ?a particularly popular import. All models have long since been discontinued. In its time, the S56E was a popular model

Well made
For a production gun, these are well made with an excellent metal-to-wood finish and, where included, attractive and understated engraving. Though they will be beginning to show their age by now, and sourcing spare parts might be something of an issue, most repairs will be well within the abilities of most gunsmiths. In any case, the S50 series was very strongly built, with little to go wrong, and had long life expectancies.

The S56E is probably the foremost among the S50 series. This is a testament to an extremely robust and durable build quality, and also to Beretta’s preference for chromed barrels, which are far more resistant to pitting. Add to that the low profile typical of Beretta shotguns and this one’s sleek lines and easy handling, and you have an option worth closer examination. As older guns, they may carry a few superficial signs of age or seem a little more expensive than others on offer, but the extra outlay will be worth it for an example that has been looked after well.

This is a used item. While we do not test-fire our used firearms, we perform an inspection and function check to ensure that they are fully functional to the best of our ability.
