"Serial number 1820488. This rifle's receiver was made in July 1943 but electro pencil markings on it indicate that it went through an arsenal level rebuild at the Tooele Army Depot in February 1965, which is why it is equipped with an October 1964 dated Springfield replacement barrel with a bright bore & strong visible rifling. It is equipped with the Type 3 ""lockbar"" adjustable rear sight assembly & a radius cut Springfield operating rod. The stock was made in Italy by Meccanica Trentina for the shorter 7.62×51mm caliber conversion of the M1. Because of this, a half-inch extension has been added to the end of the stock to return it to the correct overall length to be used on a .30-caliber M1 rifle. Overall condition is excellent with thinning gray/green phosphate across the metallic parts. The furniture is in also excellent but a half-inch wide piece of wood is missing from the extension just behind the Stock Ferrule Swivel. Comes with a USGI M1943 rifle sling.
