At a beautifully balanced 7 lbs, with classic dimensions (14.5" LOP, 1.4375" DAC, 2.125" DAH) and a vent matted rib with silver front bead, it carries and mounts with the lively feel that only a fine 20 bore can deliver. What sets this Perugini & Visini apart is its detachable trigger group action combined with truly breathtaking bulino engraving by the late master Claudio Tomasoni, signed beside the trigger guard. The receiver is a rolling canvas of game scenes and fine scroll: the left side displays a wooded vignette with a diving woodcock, framed by delicate scroll and floral motifs; the right side mirrors this beauty with a woodcock in flight, equally rich in detail and depth. The bottom of the action features a superb setter portrait surrounded by scrollwork and a floral banner, while the top lever is elevated further with a dramatic marsh scene featuring a landing mallard. Even the top tang beneath the lever is treated to a wooded scene with a woodcock in flight, and the trigger guard showcases a bold artistic touch—a nude lady figure enveloped in fine scroll engraving. Completing the package is exceptional presentation wood: exhibition-grade walnut stock and schnabel forend, sharp fine checkering, a blank initial oval on the belly of the stock, and a striking gold Perugini & Visini maker’s crest inlaid into the forend.
