This is a very handsome carbine that retains about 80-85% of the original blued finish, with silvering at the muzzle, gray fading present on the left side of the receiver at the magazine swell, and some further fading on the magazine door. The bolt has a fairly bright, pewter gray patina with some spots of dark freckling here and there, and the extractor retains about 60-65% of the original bright nitre blue finish fading to smooth plum-brown and gray on the balance. The walnut stock and handguard have a fairly thick added oil finish over some light handling marks and minor surface blemishes. Faint hints of the inspector cartouche and "(circle) P" proof remain on the left side and underside of the wrist. The unmarked buttplate has a pewter gray patina with some scattered light freckling as well. This is a very nice and desirable Span-Am Krag carbine variant that is in very good-near fine condition overall. Antique; Price: $2,795.00 Antique: Yes |
