Description:
This Marlin was produced around 1884. The rifle's serial number is 16420. This rifle has a 26 inch barrel chambered to shoot the 38-55 W.C.F. cartridge. The bore is in good to very good condition with sharp lands. The sights appear to be original to this rifle. The finish is mostly brown patina. The stock and forend show the original factory finish. There is two small cracks on the right side of the forend by the loading gate. This is quite common for this rifle as the forend is very thin in this area due to the loading gate spring housing being located there. The action works fine with no issues. This rifle has not been abused or given rough treatment. This rifle shows honest frontier use and wear.
