One of the last Schofields ever produced, this documented Second Model Schofield Commercial Variation was shipped from Smith & Wesson’s Springfield factory on December 29, 1879, to known dealer M.W. Robinson in New York City.
According to The Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, only ~650 commercial (non-military) Second Model Schofields were ever manufactured. This revolver correctly lacks the “U.S.” inspector and martial markings found on the far more common government-issue guns.
