The RXM® Pistol is a result of a tremendous collaboration between Ruger and Magpul. This American-made handgun stands out with a variety of upgraded features, exceptional ergonomics and an affordable price that allows for almost endless customization.
One of the standout features of the Ruger RXM Pistol is its Modular Fire Control Insert (FCI), which completely changes how this pistol can be customized. Unlike traditional polymer-framed handguns, the FCI is the serialized component, meaning I can swap out grip modules and even change frame sizes without purchasing an entirely new firearm. This level of modularity reminds me of the SIG P320’s Fire Control Unit (FCU), but Ruger has made it even more accessible at a lower price point. Whether I want a different grip texture, a full-size frame, or future aftermarket options, the FCI makes it possible—all while keeping the same trigger system and internal components intact. This is a game-changer for those who love to personalize their firearms to fit different shooting applications.
Ruger RXM vs. Glock 19:
After spending time with both, I can confidently say the Ruger RXM improves on the Glock 19 Gen 3 in several ways. The RXM’s Modular Fire Control Insert (FCI) lets me swap grip modules and frames—something the Glock simply doesn’t offer. It comes optics-ready from the factory, with support for RMR, DeltaPoint Pro, and RMSc footprints, while the Glock 19 requires aftermarket milling. The tritium front sight and steel rear sight are another upgrade over Glock’s standard plastic sights, making the RXM feel more refined out of the box.
