This is an authentic, serialized example of the Imperial Japanese Type 14 Nambu pistol, the primary sidearm for Japanese officers during World War II. Manufactured at the Nagoya Arsenal (Toriimatsu factory), this pistol is stamped with the date code \"18.8,\" signifying its production in August 1943. It features the later-style large, oblong trigger guard designed for use with gloved hands—a common modification found on wartime production units.
The pistol is chambered in the original 8x22mm Nambu caliber and retains its classic grooved wooden grips. As a serialized piece of military history, it shows a rich patina and honest wear that collectors value in a \"bring-back\" trophy.
Condition Note: This pistol remains in its original military configuration. While the metal finish shows typical wear and thinning, the markings remain sharp and legible.
