The Smith & Wesson Model 686 is a versatile and reliable double-action revolver introduced in 1981, chambered for the powerful .357 Magnum cartridge, and also capable of firing .38 Special rounds. Built on the robust L-frame. This revolver has a 7 shot cylinder vs. the earlier models with 6 shop cylinders. Tihs firearm has custom made laminated grips.The 686 series remains a popular choice for both personal defense and sport shooting due to its durability, accuracy, and customizable features. The trigger as been tuned and the results are a clean, smooth double action trigger pull of around 8 1/8 Lbs. Single action trigger has no take up and is exceptiionally crisp at around 2 3/4 Lbs. Shooting target .38 Spl. loads is just pure pleasure.
